DISPUTE NOTATION REMOVAL

Credit reports often contain errors that can negatively impact your credit scores. You may have disputed inaccurate accounts on your credit reports in the past and when you do, the consumer reporting agencies are required to add a note to indicate that the consumer disputes the account. That note will remain on the account even after the inaccuracies have been corrected. But now you're applying for a home loan and you're finding that those dispute notes are making approval difficult.

When you're finding it difficult to be approved for a loan due to dispute notations on accounts you've disputed in the past, we can help.

WHY ARE UNDERWRITERS CONCERNED WITH DISPUTE NOTATIONS?

When an account is or has been disputed, a dispute notation is required to be added to the account. When this happens, the account no longer gets included in the credit scoring algorithms which means your credit scores are not completely reflective of the information being reported in your credit file.

When underwriters review your credit file, they want a clean and accurate file and credit scores. This means it may be necessary to have the dispute notations removed from your file so the underwriters don't need to concerned with whether they are basing a funding decision on inaccurate information in your credit file.

Removing the dispute notations is relatively straight forward, however, if you've ever tried to contact the consumer reporting agencies, you know they don't make it easy to get in touch with a live human being that can be helpful. We'll provide you with information below on how you can get dispute notations removed yourself. If you don't want to or don't have the time to deal with the hassle, just scroll down farther for a link you can click to contact us and we'll be happy to help you.
